WhatsApp is working on a new chat filtering feature to make browsing easier for business users.

WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new chat filtering feature for all its users. The messaging platform's new features will be exclusive to corporate accounts and allow them to manage multiple chats more efficiently. Here's everything you need to know about this feature.

According to a new report from WABetaInfo, Android, desktop, and iOS users are all about to incorporate chat filtering to let them find chat content faster. The filter will include options for unread chats, contacts, non-contacts, and groups. Selecting one of these options will only show these chats on the screen, helping you browse faster.

"As you can see in this screenshot, corporate accounts see the filter button when clicking on the search bar on the desktop: Thanks to this feature, WhatsApp makes it easier to search unread chats, contacts, non-contacts, and groups," the report said.

In future app updates, standard WhatsApp accounts will be able to use the same features, but with one more difference: the filter button will always be visible even if you're not searching for chats and messages."

The Chat filter feature is currently in beta and is currently only available on WhatsApp Desktop beta v2.2216.40. The feature will roll out later in a stable version of WhatsApp Business, along with other features the platform is working on, including quick replies and identifying the "legitimate" names of those who enable UPI payments in the app.
